This is the first of four illustrations i made for the CD cover of the forthcoming album of Arman Méliès, "Néons Blancs et Asphaltine". The package opens and let you choose one of the four images to be the cover.
Hello, I invite you to join a group devoted to Cover Art creations : I send you a request for this work (if you accept this request don't forget to notice me in witch gallery it should go ) Hope to see you there !
WOWOWOW. great stuff... and personally i like it better than the second in the series... i love how the background mushes into the foreground.... and i espcially like the masks that the women have on. (i dont really need to say this.. but..) keep it up!
(i hope that didnt jinx you somehow... like artists block.... or.... death... ill stop blathering...... now)
dammit dude, every new image kind of beats those you made before. although it's perhaps futile to discuss which ones are better than the rest.
having more favs than comments speaks enough
this idea with choosing the cover is rad! although ordinary people usually like their choices to be made by other people, so they may not like this pressure you impose upon them: choose, think.
i really have no idea how you made those girls look so natural, where you got the idea to plant stuff all over the building, to put up a jumping ramp, to tilt the two parts of the world as if in earthquake, but i like it so very much.
what i appreciate about you is your deside for perfection, which makes you avoid common problems in this kind of work: bad manipulations, unconvincing seams, thrash-art look.
the image is just so detailed. if i hadn't already christened this kind of art 'drahomira style', i'd say it was terry gilliam. the only big differences are animation and character deformation (which he always uses and you don't).
well, the idea of 4 different covers is not mine but from the band. as for the ideas on how to build the picture, i couldn't answer you, i don't really work in a rational way, things come up (or don't) and i just follow the inspiration. anyway i'm really glad that you like the style
well my work is mainly about creating other realities, exploring dreams and telling stories. of course they can make you think about our reality but ieach one can have his own interpretation, it doesn't bother me. there's always messages in artworks but some like mine are not meant to be expressed with words but more with esthetical feelings.
